Hello from Eureka Springs, Arkansas!
Hi Kinder Crew! I hope you all are enjoying break and staying dry and safe from all this rain. We are in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and the rain finally stopped this morning so we could get out and do some exploring! It was beautiful. I can only imagine it in the sunshine! Stay tuned tomorrow for my trip back to St. Louis when I become an AUNT!

Day 1 of Winter Break!
Hi Kinder Crew, it's Addison! I get to hang out with Ms.Gegg over Winter Break. This morning Ethan, Ms.Gegg, and I kicked off winter break with an intense game of battleship! After that, we got a nice clean car wash at Waterway. Lastly, we went to Which Wich to get delicious sandwiches for lunch. Stay tuned for more info about our Winter Break. I hope that you are having a very fun and safe winter break.
Kinder Crew, can you spy some spicy writing strategies Addison used? Look for sequence words and fancy details! Enjoy your day off.

What a fun day participating in Mr. Keller and I's second year of "Hour of Code!" The kids had an awesome time coding their own apps including: Star Wars, Frozen and Minecraft.

Joyeux Noel!
Today we jetted off to France on Holiday Airlines! We enjoyed learning about some French traditions, listened to some French Christmas carols as we filled out our passports and holiday scrapbooks and they made their bƻche de Noel Christmas treats! Fun was had by all! A BIG thank you to the Leible's for saving the day with a last minute errand for the "cake rolls" :).
Happy Readers!
I absolutely love catching my littles caught up in centers that they don't even know I'm catching a picture! Elliott was in "read to self," Evan S., Scarlett and Felix were "partner read" and the group of fella's at the top were at "teacher table" sorting synonyms and antonyms.

Where We Live
While discussing the United States holiday traditions, we discussed where we live. This is an overwhelming concept at this age to keep it all straight, so we charted it to refer back to. We've also been discussing and memorizing the seven continents!

Happiness.
One of my side jobs is my own business, an organization company for children's spaces. Tonight I got to organize and help finish decorating probably my most favorite project, my soon-to-be niece's nursery! Can't wait for Miss Genevieve to make her debut (due 1/2). Be still my heart, this little girl is already loved to infinity and beyond!
Comparing/Contrasting
Today we learned about Hannukah and used these two stories for a fun compare/contrast activity incorporating a Venn diagram. Aaron and SeƱor Norman were our "experts" today and shared their knowledge with us. We did lots of fun read alouds, played dreidel and enjoyed a fun song.
R&R Time!
We revisited our rest & recharge time expectations. I have a few that are disrupting friends who actually rest/sleep so we discussed this today. I have quiet music on and they are allowed to read also.

Holidays Around the World!
Bon Voyage! It's my most favorite time of the year...holiday activities and our Holidays Around the World unit. I find myself getting wrapped up in this unit and put lots of love and time in planning. Yesterday we took off and headed to Mexico: boarding passes, check! Passports, check! Holiday scrapbook, check! SeƱor Norman joined in on the fun in the afternoon. Today we hit the sky again and we're off to Italy where we learned about La Befana, yummy Itallian food and famous landmarks. We had lots of reminders during today's lesson which will set us back tomorrow to finish up Italy and take a break for a day to see if we can handle it for Thursday. We still have so many fun places and traditions to explore so I'm hoping our class discussion today about how much time and effort goes into teaching and planning will follow through with them ready to be learners and have some serious fun the next few weeks! I know they can do it, unfortunately we seemed to have a tough adjustment back from break. We will continue to touch on the seven continents, explore maps and an abundance of curriculum all rolled into this holidays unit! When the unit concludes, they will bring all their treasures home to keep as a souvenir.
Spicy Writing!
At this point in the year, 70 days in, I'm really expecting to see the crew start incorporating writing and spelling techniques they've been introduced to and stashed away in their magic bags. These techniques are consistently modeled all throughout the day through our shared writing all across curriculum. Today we read Froggy's Best Christmas and then wrote about our best Christmas, myself included! I encourage you to have conversations at home about what strategies they're trying out. I love watching them grow as authors!
Holly Berry is Back!
Holly Berry just can't get enough of room 103; much to my surprise on Monday morning, she was back to visit!!! She left us a letter and is keeping a close eye on us to be sure we're being learners, bucket fillers to our pals and listening to our parents and teachers! Hopefully she understands they're adjusting back from break yesterday and today, but I'm sure she's expecting learners tomorrow to ensure a positive and happy report.
